Consultations

Consultations are a great opportunity to get involved in relevant policy processes. Civil society organisations have a lot to contribute to the policy dialogue and it is important that experiences are shared with government and other bodies.

BOND promotes consultations with political decision-makers and encourages members to get involved in the public policy making process.

BOND supports its members by providing information on ongoing consultations and facilitating dialogue with government bodies, political parties and other relevant organisations and decision-makers.

Participatory approach to development

Consultations are part of a broader context in which BOND members are committed to a participatory approach to development where all relevant stakeholders are involved in all stages of planning, policy formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

BOND members believe that engagement improves the pro-poor effectiveness of public policy making.

Consultations on the environment in which NGOs operate

There are also regular opportunities to contribute to consultations on other aspects of public policy affecting NGOs, such as the funding environment, changes to charity law, or agreements between Government and the broader voluntary sector.

For more information on these issues, see our Law and regulation and Donor relations pages.

For funding consultations, the best way to stay in touch is by joining the Funding Working Group or find out more about how BOND influences donors on the Donor Relations page.
